FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Below is a list of common questions we get along with there answers. You can of course contact us here if you have any other questions, we will be more than happy to answer them for you.

  1. Can we restore a previously resurfaced bath?
    • Yes the bath can be resurfaced as many times as required, we simply strip the old coating off and recoat the bath back to brand new.
  2. How long does the work take?
    • Between 3 and 6 hours depending on how much preparation work is needed prior to resurfacing.
  3. How long does a resurfaced bath last?
    • We expect a resurfaced bath to last between 10-20 years before it needs resurfacing again.
  4. How long after resurfacing before the bath can be used?
    • 48 hours for the material to fully cure and harden.
  5. How much does it cost?
    • Prices are worked out on bath style, if it needs stripping prior to resurfacing and the distance from base, every job is different and are priced accordingly.
  6. Can we resurface all baths?
    • We can resurface cast iron, pressed steel and acrylic/plastic baths.
  7. Can we resurface shower trays and sinks?
    • Yes most shower trays and sinks can be restored back to brand new.
  8. Do I need to remove the taps etc?
    • No, we mask off all fixtures and fittings.
    • We only recommend you remove the fittings if you are planning to change them, it is always better to fit new fittings after the resurfacing work is completed, this reduces any chance of damaging the new coating.
  9. Can we repair holes and cracks in baths?
    • We certainly can, once a hole is repaired it will be the strongest area of your bath.
  10. Can we resurface a bath that has a dripping tap?
    • No! All dripping taps must have their washers changed before we come, the only other option would be to isolate the water for 48 hours.
  11. How do I take care of my newly resurfaced bath?
    • Very easily, wash with washing up liquid only and dry any standing areas of water when not in use.
  12. Can I use a bath mat once it has been resurfaced?
    • Certainly, we only recommend microfiber bath mats though, the rubber ones with suckers will cause premature wear on the surface.
  13. Do we remove silicone?
    • We can remove the silicone at the customer’s request.
    • However you will have to arrange to re-apply new silicone once the bath is dry in 48 hours, we can come back to do this for you at extra cost.
  14. Do you need to empty the bathroom?
    • Ideally yes.
    • We need a clean dust free environment in which to work.
  15. Do you guarantee the work?
    • Yes we give a 2 year guarantee on all work.
  16. Can you get any discounts?
    • We give a £20 discount off all quotes for OAPs.
    • We give a 10% discount off both baths if you and a Neighbour/friend book at the same time.

    • We offer a full tile restoration service to complement your newly resurfaced bath.
    • We can also change the colour of your tiles for a fraction of the cost of retiling.
  18. Can we restore old pot kitchen sinks?
